Banks 'may need more state aid' Bank of England warns
The Government must consider pumping more cash into struggling British banks and conceivably nationalise more of them or consign itself to years of insipid growth the Bank of England Governor has warned.

We continue to believe that when normal loan losses start to occur, as they always do in a downturn, that some banks will need further capital. The bigger question will be whether they will seek State or private capital next time.
